Welcome to Create a Healthy Flexible Body

Feldenkrais healthy woman on beach This site will be a constantly developing resource for you.

Healthy living can be a choice.

Hello, my name is Peter Dawson and I would like to welcome you to this site.

I will be referencing many aspects of fitness and health throughout this site. We will draw on different resources from around the web.

Most of us are either at various levels of fitness, flexibility and vitality or more towards being somewhat athletically challenged, stiff throughout the body and a little rundown.

I believe that there are no age limits on improving yourself physically. You may be surprised at just how much more healthy you can become. However, rather than providing absolute directions and advice on how to go about developing your fitness and health I will be more referencing different disciplines and approaches from which you can choose and develop yourself.

I intend for this site to develop 'organically', more from the interests, skills and needs of those who visit. To enable this I will provide ways for you to actively participate in asking questions and providing resources. We will set up a directory of providers and practitioners that is both geographically and modality based.

Please bookmark this site and come back often, there will be many changes.

The Feldenkrais Method

Flexibility with splits and Feldenkrais
I am both a Feldenkrais Practitioner and an NLP Master Trainer. I will be bringing these modalities to this site in ways that I hope are very useful for you in developing your health and fitness. I welcome practitioners of other modalities as well.

If you haven't experienced the Feldenkrais Method you may wish to try. After 20 years of being involved with it I am still stunned by how effective it is across a vast range. It can help you dramatically with your flexibility, balance, poise and coordination. Along with this it is a great aid for those with movement difficulties, seemingly no matter what the cause.

Perhaps though, the aspect that impresses me the most with this method is its understanding of the nature of learning and change through the nervous system. If we really understood this we would probably change just about everything we do. This is especially important for any athletes, or other forms of physical performance. You will find a few articles here that explore this method. I welcome any questions.

I hope you enjoy your visit here. Please help me to make it a healthy site for you

All the best.

Peter

Your capacity to move freely, naturally and easily is essential to your quality of life.

Reclaim the natural movement of a child. Even if you have a restriction in movement as a result of injury or some other disability there is nearly always some aspect that we can improve.
