These Feldenkrais exercises are designed to greatly assist you with the functioning of your eyes. Too much tension here can be one of the main causes of emotional and physical stress and can also contribute to the impairment of vision.
As you release the tension around your eyes you tend to release the tension around your entire head / neck area.
It is perhaps through the eyes, more than any other process, that we maintain our relationship with our environment. Developing awareness with the organization around your eyes can help you with your external environment.
This can contribute to improving balance, hand-eye coordination and judging distances.
While these benefits can be in the purely physical realm - driving etc - it can also involve our personal relationships and so forth.
Many people would agree that we project our personalities and our presence through our eyes. It is a good idea, then, to develop a high quality of awareness here.
It makes all the sense in the world then to maintain the instruments through which this occurs. This modality can make a significant contribution to the functioning of your eyes.
Please note that this is not a claim that it can restore eyesight or treat any particular conditions - you are best advised to consult proper professionals in that regard. However, there is much we can do to expand our capacity with our eyes.
Like so much that we engage ourselves in it really is a case of 'use it or lose it'.
