Feldenkrais Soft Hamstrings


Your hamstrings can be freed up with this Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement exercise.

This approach is different to most. Feldenkrais Soft HamstringsWe aren't so much interested in you being able to stretch further, rather we aim to have you be able to engage the use of this muscle group in a more integrated and useful manner.

This is a typical way of using these Exercises to enable you to be able to reach further as a consequence.

Many people can stretch their hamstrings further, but at the end of the day they still have an underlying physical tension within the muscles.

This is where a lot of injuries and awkward movement stem from.

With this approach we are aiming to avoid this.

Extend your range as you develop a nice quality of easy, fluid, graceful movement.

This Feldenkrais lesson, as its title suggests can help you easily and gently soften and lengthen this part of your body.

Feldenkrais exercises can allow you to develop a sense of rhythm and connection throughout the body. With this exercise you will use very gentle undulating movements designed to lengthen all parts of the body associated with hamstring function.

Feldenkrais Soft Hamstrings not only frees up and lengthens them, you will also begin to loosen up the ribs and lower spine.

This is essential for good integrated function.

This lesson addresses principles of learning, highly relevant to the Feldenkrais Method.

This is that the body can learn new ways of moving and lengthening that don't require effort, tension and pain. This can be quite challenging to those more used to breaking through barriers and putting maximum 'effort' into their exercise.

As is often the case we are using Feldenkrais here with the bigger picture in mind - not just freeing up one muscle group.
